Step 1 - Draw an upside down triangle; Step 2 - Add a straight line as in from each corner; Step 3 - Next, draw a line at an angle on each; Step 4 - Your shape should now look similar to this.

Step 5 - Draw a half circle from each corner to half way along each line; Step 6 - Your shape should now be looking like this; Step 7 - Finally, draw a curve from each point to the next; Step 8 - The finished knot showing the various stages in different colours.

Try changing the length of some of the lines or make bigger curves and see the differences to your knot.
